HAIR TRANSPLANTATION FUE OR FUT?

FUE and FUT hair transplantation is the transplantation of strong hair roots located at the side and back area of head to the hairless area. FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) is being applied successfully nowadays since 1990s. It is being applied under anesthesia in the operating room.  It is being done by taking out hair, scalp and underscalp tissue elliptically, then dividing into 2 – 4 pieces with hair roots and then transplantation to hairless area by opening holes. FUT hair transplantation technique left its place to FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) in the beginning of 2000s because of suturing on tissue taken area, temporary desensitization at the area, tension feeling for long period and scars because of tissue take.

FUE ( Follicular Unit Extraction) is the process of transplantation of hair roots divided into pieces called graft to the  hairless area one by one. Hair roots are taken one by one with the help of a specialized needle under local anesthesia. If hair roots are scant, follicules can be taken from beard, chest and dorsal area. Because there are no sutures, there will be no scars.  At the same time transplantation can be done up to 5000 – 6000 graft without  side effects like desensitization and tension. Even if more time needed for FUE, it gained superiority because of advantages train of operation and it is preferred.

Even if both two methods are successful, ‘Hair Restoration’ is needed.

• Hair line should be planned with patient before operation or application. Hair line should be designed by taking outsides of eyebrows and the point determined in the middle of two eyebrows.
• Hair line should be determined according to person’s age and face ratio.
• Future hair loss that person can be faced in the future should be determined
• Transplantation applications done without taking into consideration hair direction and structure caused dissatisfaction at people who wants hair conversion. This should be paid attention.

So with Hair Restoration ; 

• With few touches to hair line, there can be set a suitable hair line appropriate for person’s face
• Sparse hair lines look thicker and stronger
• Area between transplanted area and hair border can be thicker
• Scars at the root taken area can be erased.
